Millennium Hotels & Resorts has restored and reopened an historic theatre in New York.
As part of a project undertaken with the Ambassador Theatre Group, the 112-year-old Hudson Theatre relaunches this weekend following an extensive restoration.
The theatre’s first show in nearly 50 years, ‘Sunday in the Park with George’, opens on 11 February and stars Jake Gyllenhaal.
The theatre is located adjacent to the Millennium Broadway Hotel New York.
“The Hudson Theatre is one of the great historic landmarks in New York City and we have always been proud of this gem asset in the Millennium Hotels & Resorts Group,” said Kwek Leng Beng, Millennium’s chairman. “After an 18-month extensive restoration, we are so excited about the rebirth of the Hudson Theatre.”
Kwek oversaw the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday 8 February.
Following the reopening, Millennium Broadway Hotel New York will offer joint hotel and theatre packages, as well as pre-theatre dinner and drinks at the Millennium Broadway’s restaurant.
