Oman Air has denied a report that one of its aircraft was diverted due to a bomb threat.
A Kuwaiti newspaper reported that one of the Omani national carrier’s flights had been diverted to Kuwait while it was en route from Muscat to Germany. Oman Air later issued a statement denying its involvement.
“Oman Air confirms that none of its flights were involved in any incidents,” the airline said.
The incident is reported to have occurred on Sunday, but no Oman Air flights to Germany were operating at the time of the alleged diversion. Oman Air flies to two German destinations: Frankfurt and Munich.
Oman Air has confirmed however, that a passenger died after falling ill on a flight from Muscat to Jeddah. The aircraft was diverted to Riyadh but the passenger passed away after landing.
