The New Year will see the roll out of a new campaign by the Philippines Department of Tourism (PDOT), together with its marketing and promotions arm the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB). The new campaign aptly titled ‘Visit the Philippines Year’ (VPY) was launched during the Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX).
The VPY 2015 campaign will focus on five themes – business meetings; history and culture; lifestyle and entertainment; music and the arts; sports, adventure, and eco-tourism. The targeted result of the campaign from international markets would be six million in 2015.
Philippines tourism secretary Ramon Jimenez, said: “Tourism isn’t about numbers, it is a performance. As such it is dependent on our people. Performance is the ability to turn strangers into friends, sights into memories, and adventures into unforgettable experiences. While ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’ campaign is focused on people, VisitPH2015 is about events, and with this potent combination, we guarantee our tourists of having a good time in our country.”
