Marriott International has introduced another new hotel brand to China with the addition of a resort in Shanghai.
The Tribute Portfolio, which was originally created by Starwood, has made its Chinese debut with the Yuluxe Sheshan, a lakeside resort located in the Sheshan National Forest Park – an urban park in the west of the city.
Yuluxe Sheshan is not a new hotel, but following a multi-million dollar renovation it has been brought into line with Marriott standards.
Sitting on the shores of Shanghai’s largest lake, the 325-room hotel includes a Cantonese restaurant with 11 private dining rooms, a bar, wedding pavilion, gym, spa, beauty salon, indoor and outdoor pools, karaoke rooms and a billiard room. A new 700m² children’s playground has also been added.
“With a growing demand from global travellers for new, imaginative travel experiences, we are thrilled to bring the brand’s truly independent spirit to the sought-after Song Jiang district of Sheshan,” said Brian Povinelli, senior vice president & global brand leader of the Tribute Portfolio.
“As part of Tribute Portfolio, the Yuluxe Sheshan offers unique and unexpected experiences that today’s adventurous travellers are seeking in a growing tourist destination.”
Yuluxe Sheshan becomes only the fifth Tribute Portfolio hotel in Asia Pacific, following existing properties in Bali, Jakarta, Singapore and Hokkaido.
