The Abu Dhabi Airports have announced their intent to boost the Emiratisation target of 50% by the end of 2015.
This key announcement was made under the patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, minister of culture, youth and community development.
In order to reach this target, Abu Dhabi Airports is offering 100 scholarships within UAE universities and colleges alongside 50 jobs in its fire fighting and administration departments, and a further 50 entries within its National Training Programme “Al Eqla’a”.
HE Ali Majed Al Mansoori, chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “It has been a top priority for Abu Dhabi Airports to play its part in the UAE government’s ABSHER initiative for training and employment of UAE nationals. We recognize the importance of implementing systems, training procedures and career plans to ensure that the right Emiratis end up in the right jobs and in the right levels of the organization.”
In 2011, the proportion of Emiratis working for Abu Dhabi Airports out of total staff was 24%. By the end of 2014, that figure had risen to 43.5%, and executive management alone recorded 65% nationalization.
