2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games confirmed for Salt Lake City-Utah
Deer Valley Named Official Venue for Olympic Freestyle Skiing Events
Deer Valley Resort is honoured to be an official venue for the 2034 Olympic Winter Games. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made the announcement last week confirming that the Salt Lake City-Utah 2034 bid has been successful. Deer Valley will host the freestyle skiing events, including moguls and aerials, marking a continuation of its long-standing tradition of commitment to winter sports development.
A Legacy of Excellence
Deer Valley, renowned for its world-class guest service and elite international ski competitions, will once again welcome athletes from around the globe. The resort previously hosted the freestyle events during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and has since been the site of numerous international competitions, including the 2003, 2011, and 2019 World Championships and 21 FIS World Cups.
“We are honoured to be confirmed as an official venue for the 2034 Olympic Winter Games,” said Todd Bennett, President and COO of Deer Valley. “Our collaboration with the Salt Lake City-Utah 2034 organising committee has been excellent, and we look forward to further strengthening this partnership as we prepare for the games return to Utah. We are proud of our commitment to sport and our legacy of hosting 26 years of international ski competitions.”
Expanded Excellence at Deer Valley
The selection of Deer Valley as a venue for the 2034 Winter Olympic Games coincides with the resort’s Expanded Excellence™ initiative. This collection of projects aims to evolve and elevate the Deer Valley experience for future generations and will be ready to showcase to the world in 2034. Highlights include over doubling the existing skiable terrain, the development of the new Deer Valley East Village, a transformation of the Snow Park base area, and revitalisation of existing on-mountain facilities.
